Katelyn's 16th birthday cake

The family was going to be in Utah for Kaite's birthday (which is today, Happy Birthday Katie!) and I really wanted to make her a birthday cake, so we decided to do a little celebration while we were at the park for the 4th of July. This is the cake I made! The bottom tier was roads on a green background.
The top tier was clouds on a blue sky with traffic signals placed randomly.

I made a few stop signs and some little cars to go on the cake.

The topper was this sun that had the number 16 on it.

And here it is! It turned out pretty cute! The only things that bothers me is that i didn't bring frosting to cover up the cake board between the tiers. Oh well, it still turned out cute.

us singing happy birthday and it all lit up.

Miriam could not wait to "eat one of the cars." She had her eye on them as soon as she knew they were edible.

After we ate some of the cake we reassembled the half eaten cars to make a car wreck scene, with the added touches of flames from the sun. It is pretty funny.

Wedding cake post 2

Here I am! Getting ready to make a wedding cake in my cute apron! I had to show it off because I love it. I am a sucker for cute aprons. I wish I could buy them all!

This is the fondant that I had to roll out. It is quite a workout! The other two pictures are of the layers wrapped and ready for transport.

This is the finished product. Similar to the pictures posted in the last post. There were a few more roses added to the top where you can see it needed some on the bottom right.

These are the roses I made out of gum paste. I tried to make some red ones but red is a hard color to get and it kept coming out in this rust red instead of a rose red. The white ones looked really great though.

Wedding cake!

Well I have seemed to have misplaced the cord that goes from my new camera to the computer. Oops! I will find it soon I hope, but in the meantime I have had a lot of people asking me to post some pictures of the wedding cake. So here are some that my sister took. It was a lot of fun doing this cake and everyone who got to try it said it was Delicious! The red flowers are real flowers and the white ones are gum paste flowers that I made myself! Its a chocolate cake with marionberry cream filling and white fondant frosting. I hope to post more pictures of the whole process as soon as I can.
