Home Made Sushi

I was browsing the good old Albany Heritage Mall the other day and wandered into the Walden Book Store. They had a clearance shelf of all cook books and I LOVE cook books so I got pretty excited. Then I saw that they were by two get one free and I knew that I had to get some. I ended up getting a Sushi making kit as one of my buys and was stoked at the idea of making my own sushi. We have made friends with a guy that lives in our apartments and his girlfriend and they mentioned that they too have wanted to try making sushi. This is our result :) I have to say that I think we did a good job! Ben took the pictures so they are just of me and our neighbor. Tip #1 make sure the layer of rice is very thin. Ben was the 1st to go and his is too thick with rice. You will see his end product at the end of the post.

We had two types of sushi. The one I made here has cream cheese, smoked salmon and avocado.
The other was a California roll with fake crab, cucumber and avocado. Yum Yum!

Here is my roll! I was one of the last to go, so I got to see what worked and didn't work so mine turned out pretty good.

These are Ben's. Like I said earlier, he used a little too much rice. It still tasted wonderful!

This is Caleb and his sticky hands. It gets pretty messy.
